(Versión Original) Ophelie is a committed human rights activist, passionate about justice and equal opportunities, I aim to support the most marginalized, neglected, and abused African/black communities living in Europe. Born in France and raised in Paris.
I have been working in Greece directly with the African refugee population for years now. Bearing witness and documenting the testimonies of the people who are suffering from the institutionalised racism prevalent in Europe and trapped in the European immigration system. I work daily to make sure their voices are being amplified. These communities are at the intersections of European societal failings and it is important that their voice is heard. I used communication as my main tool of advocacy. Social media is a significant space to mobilise communities and teach. I document how institutionalised racism impacts their experience as refugees. However I also work in other spaces to raise awareness, educate and challenge people’s ideas on race and forced immigration.
